Teesside University continues to support the long-established collaboration among five universities (NERAP) where together we seek to address regional inequalities and increase access to higher education for disadvantaged groups. Each year, the partnership supports over 30,000 young people, providing bespoke support for care-experienced students through our unique Regional Care Leaver Covenant. NERAP is the access arm of a broader North East Partnership known as Universities for the North East (UNEE). We also partner with our North East colleagues to support the regional Uni Connect programme, funded by the Office for Students, to deliver targeted assistance to students in areas with low higher education participation.
The Office for Students (OfS) is the regulator of higher education providers in England and requires all providers registered with it to have approved, and published, an Access and Participation Plan (APP). The Teesside University Access and Participation Plan is a strategic document which outlines how we will address inequalities of opportunity for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Under the previous regulatory system with HEFCE for publicly funded universities and colleges in England, it was a requirement to have an access agreement approved by what was, at the time, the Office for Fair Access (OFFA).
Teesside University's Access Agreement sets out our commitment to widening participation and improving access.
As a requirement of the Office for Students (OfS), all higher education providers that hold an Access & Participation Plan must annually return information on the fees they charge to students. The latest information for Teesside University is accessible via the links below.
