I love the outdoors so it’s great living in Middlesbrough – kayaking, horse riding and surfing, or just different places for a nice walk.

  • Errington Woods, New Marske – a community woodland with Local Nature Reserve status.
  • North York Moors – 5550m2 of national parkland in North Yorkshire with crags, caves and stone-built villages.
  • Tees Barrage, Stockton-on-Tees – white water rafting, paddle boarding, powerboat trips, bell boating and raft building, plus an air trail, nature reserve and café.
  • Dorman Museum, Middlesbrough – a local and social history museum showcasing the heritage of the town and housing works by Victorian industrial designer Christopher Dresser.
  • Middlesbrough Central Public Library – opened in 1912, it provided a lending library where boys' and girls' sections were separated by a screen and a ladies' reading room.
  • Saltburn-by-the-sea – a stunning seaside town with Victorian charm.
