Psychology
Psychology is the study of human behaviour. With our state-of-the-art facilities, studying psychology develops your practical skills as well as your theoretical understanding. You can study what interests you – whether counselling or cognition, forensic or health. Courses
First-class facilities
The first-class facilities for psychology students are all on campus. The University's Library houses a large stock of books, journals and has online access to further journals and databases. You also have access to the University’s own mock court room and police station.
As a psychology student, you have access to state-of-the-art computer suites; dedicated laboratories for interviewing, interaction, cognition, biopsychology and psycholinguistics; and a relaxation room for student research. These facilities allow you to develop practical skills in the investigation of human behaviour.
Psychology is based in the Clarendon Building, where we have specialist teaching facilities with interactive white boards, open-access computing laboratories, student centre and coffee shop. Our modules allow you to develop your knowledge, research skills and critical thinking, and are all supported by online materials.
Quality teaching

Research
Teaching in psychology is underpinned by a strong research culture. We contribute extensively to national and international conferences, top-level peer-reviewed journals and the shaping of national and international policy. Our staff have a variety of research interests and are members of a wide range of collaborative research groups and institutes. Teesside University also collaborates closely with the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG).
