Teesside University teamed up with TUV SUD, a market leader in machine safety, to deliver a bespoke course for safety engineers and practitioners.
The University Certificate in Professional Development (UCPD) in European Machine Safety Requirements has been developed by TUV SUD (formerly Laidler Associates) and accredited by the University. It gives an academic route for the professional development of safety engineers and practitioners.
As well as the qualification, successful students receive 30 credits – these can be used towards other Teesside University courses.
Students are taught and assessed by one of the leading machinery safety consultants in the UK. They gain a qualification that will enhance their career – through their own professional development and by being qualified in an area with no previous recognised qualification.
As a result companies are able to have their own in-house team of machinery safety assessors, reducing the need for external consultants. They also benefit by knowing what qualification they need to look for when employing new members of staff.
