Student car and bicycle parking
There are three options for student parking; but you can only register for one option. In all cases you must register for parking.
Please note that registering for parking only allows access to the car park(s) it does not guarantee a parking space.
Daytime attendance
The University has a number of student pay to park car parks at Middlesbrough and Darlington campuses. Parking charges are £2.00 for all day, or £1.50 for four hours. Payment is via the Pay By Phone app which is available in the iOS App and Google Play stores.
Only users registered for parking with the University can access the car parks.

Evening attendance
Students attending university on an evening can make use of the Woodlands car park (TS1 3QJ) from 6.00pm – 9.00pm free of charge. Please ensure you do not use the private car park on Woodlands Road, which is not university owned.
The University has a limited number of permits available at no cost to students for park and ride at Cannon Park, which is approximately a ten minute walk from the Middlesbrough campus. There is a regular free shuttle bus service between Cannon Park and the University between 8.00am and 5.30pm during term time.

Students in on campus accommodation can apply for a resident student parking permit for East Parkside Village car park. Permits cost £264 for the academic year and must be paid in full via the online shop.
Pay online
EV charging is available in the Athena car park (posts on right hand side). To allow access for all EV users, this facility is limited to a maximum of four hours plugged in charge time, before relocating to a non-EV space. This could be a student car park (with associated permissions), on-street parking, private car park.
The current charge rate is .25p per kWh.

Victoria tenants
Tenants in Victoria can request parking as part of their tenancy via the admin team based in Victoria. Registered users will be allocated access to the student pay to park car parks (Woodlands, Mercuria, Students’ Union, East Parkside Village) and must purchase a parking session when parked in the car park.
Payment for parking is via the Pay By Phone via the app which is available in the iOS App and Google Play stores.
Other parking information
The University has a limited number of covered bicycle stores for which there is no charge. There are several other areas around the campus where bicycles can also be secured at no charge during the day. Register online.
Register for bicycle parking
Please note that securing bicycles within the Campus Heart area is strictly forbidden.
Motorcyclists are asked to contact Security Office, ground floor, Library to register their motorcycles and identify an appropriate parking location for which there is currently no charge.
Students who hold a Blue Badge are eligible for free parking at the University. Email carparking@tees.ac.uk for more information.
The penalties for breaching the conditions for parking are:
- first infringement: receipt of an email confirming that the infringement has been recorded and warning of TUSC deactivation
- Second and subsequent infringements: your parking access is disabled until penalty payment is made. A fixed charge penalty payment of £10 is issued for each infringement, payable via the University online shop. All issued infringements are emailed to your @tees email account.
- Failure to adhere to the terms and conditions may result in permanent withdrawal of all parking privileges and access rights.
Subsequent infringements (such as tail-gating) will be regarded as trespass and may result in formal action being invoked under Student Disciplinary Procedures. Students who habitually abuse regulations will forfeit all parking privileges and their TUSCS will be permanently deactivated. All representations regarding the issue of an infringement notice or permanent cancellation of parking privileges must be made within seven days of issue to the University security manager at Campus Services. Details of all offences are kept on record.

Vehicles are parked at the owner's risk and in absence of negligence by the University, its servants or agents; liability will not be accepted for loss or damage to vehicles or property left in the car parks.
Students who reside within a four-mile radius of the University (postcodes TS1 - TS4), and students who are also members of University staff, are not eligible to use the student car parks. Students who reside in on campus accommodation are not eligible to apply for Pay to Park or Cannon Park (park and ride) parking.
All applications should be accompanied with a valid TUSC and current vehicle details. Breach of any parking conditions will result in financial penalties/permanent removal of parking rights or possible student disciplinary action.
