In the last three academic years, we have recruited over 800 students from the Sub Saharan Africa region, including learners from Uganda. Teesside University is immensely proud to have a strong Ugandan Alumni community, as well as a number of students currently enrolled on our wide range of courses.

Entry requirements

For entry onto a Foundation or Extended programme, applicants require:

For entry onto: International Foundation Year programmes: Ugandan Certificate of Education (UCE) with passes in a minimum of eight subjects including credit passes or better (grades 1-6) in at least five subjects (including the relevant subjects).

For entry onto: Extended Degree Programmes: UCE with passes in at least eight subjects including credit passes or better (grades 1-6) in a minimum of five subjects which must include mathematics, chemistry and either physics or biology as appropriate to the degree subject.

For entry onto an Undergraduate programme, applicants require:

For entry onto Year 1:
A Foundation programme
East African Advanced Certificate of Education or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education – same tariff as for UK A levels

Advanced entry to undergraduate:
You may be able to transfer from a public university or an institution accredited by the National Council for Higher Education
Decided on a case-by-case basis

For entry onto a Postgraduate programme, applicants require:

2.2 degree from a public university or an institution accredited by the National Council for Higher Education, or 3.0/5 or B
