British Council GREAT Scholarship

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Teesside University is offering three scholarships to students in Egypt, Indonesia or Pakistan applying for postgraduate courses.

Scholarships

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Number of scholarships available: three GREAT Scholarships.

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 72 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Eligibility criteria

To be considered for a GREAT scholarship, you must:

  • Be a national of one of the following countries: Egypt, Indonesia or Pakistan
  • Be assessed as international for tuition fee purposes
  • Be self-funded
  • You must hold an offer from Teesside University (conditional or unconditional) by 26 April 2024 for a postgraduate taught one-year master's programme, commencing September 2024.

How to apply

Apply by 26 April 2024

Candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship; no separate scholarship application is necessary. The scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding candidate displaying exceptional academic merit, displayed in their academic application.

Further information - successful recipients

  • Will be informed by 31 May 2024.
  • Will be unable to combine this scholarship with other Teesside University scholarships and are unable to defer their scholarship.
  • Will be expected to contribute to the wider marketing and outreach activity of Teesside University.

Please note that applicants should be passport holders of Egypt, Indonesia or Pakistan.
