Why Teesside?

I heard about Teesside while I was living in Romania. After doing some research I found that Teesside was one of the best universities for international students and also offered my desired course.

Did you enjoy your course?

The course is excellent. It contains information from the basics to the very advanced and it’s presented in a clear yet comprehensive way. I enjoyed the individual study aspect of the course. The lecturers and module leaders are always available and happy to help. They are passionate about what they are doing and it just makes you want to work harder.

Best thing about your course?

The timetable left enough time for other commitments and responsibilities. I had a part-time job as well as volunteering and study, so having a flexible course was something I was really happy about.

Did you have a good social life?

I made lifelong friends from my time at Teesside University. Middlesbrough has a variety of restaurants and cafes where you can relax in-between lessons and lectures. The university has a climbing wall and, if you join the gym, you get membership to Neptune swimming pool. The University makes it really easy to have a good and active social life.

The careers service is really helpful. I was reluctant to go and meet them, but they are really passionate about helping students find employment both during their course and after graduating. I was able to make sure my CV and cover letter were shaped perfectly for my placement. The counselling is really helpful as they helped me with my sleeping issues.

Would you recommend Teesside?

Yes absolutely. The main projects I worked on during the course were around food manufacturing plant design where I was a team leader. That experience helped me secure a placement job after graduating. I was also able to work on another project focusing on the technical part of documenting quality control.

I had the opportunity to study what I am really passionate about and work in my dream job. I have also met a lot of wonderful people and develop myself both personally and professionally thanks to my time at Teesside.
